General Dentistry
The Dental House is an “amalgam free” practice. Amalgam fillings are silver Mercury fillings which are rarely used in dentistry today. The Dental house prides itself on using aesthetically pleasing fillings ( resin fillings) with a wide range of shade variation to match the colour of your teeth.
Fissure Sealants are a protective layer that keeps food and bacteria from getting stuck in the tiny grooves in the teeth, thus preventing tooth decay. It is highly recommended in children from the age of 8yrs old
There are a number of methods of teeth whitening ranging from “at home” to “in office” bleaching. At Dentalhouse we use Ultradent opalescence boost for in office treatment.
Scale and Polish is also known as a dental cleaning, regular scale and polish is essential to maintain a healthy mouth. Plaque and calculus produce gingivitis(gum disease) and in severe cases periodontitis (gum disease with bone involvement). Bleeding gums and mobile teeth are warning signs of both gingivitis and periodontitis
This technique is used on children for certain teeth which present with decay.The technique is a simple procedure without the use of Local anaesthetic and the “noisy” drills. It is meant to put children that require treatment at ease in the chair.
Specialised Dentistry
At the Dental house we do interceptive orthodontics. Children as young as 8 yrs old can start with jaw expansion inorder to eliminate the need for extensive orthodontic treatment later in life.
Root Canal treatment is done in 2 sessions. It is a painless procedure, unlike what social media and the internet tell you. It is nerve removal under anaesthetic. The purpose of root canal is to save a tooth which has irreversible pulpitis.
These are removable teeth. It is possible to replace from 1 tooth to a full set of teeth with dentures.
There are many ways to replace a missing tooth, one option is a bridge. A bridge is made by preparing the teeth on either side to hold a tooth in the place of the missing tooth. It is permanently cemented.
These are titanium screws placed in the Jaw to hold a false tooth (Crown) replacing any number of missing teeth. Implants can be used to replace one tooth or even a full mouth of teeth. Implants are placed according to the number of teeth to be replaced.
